Braille and Tactile Signs
With the introduction of Government legislation the need has arisen, particularly in public buildings, to display signage that is relevant to those who have impaired vision. We have the facilities to produce such signage. Nameplates and signs are usually manufactured in plastic because the basic requirement is for the sign to have a good contrast between the background colour and that of the lettering. The lettering should always be tactile, that is, raised from the background so that a person with poor eyesight can feel the contours of the lettering. Legislation also requires that Braille should also be incorporated to assist those with impaired vision. There are basic rules as to the layout of such signs and we are happy to design Braille and tactile signage for you.
